Bowls & Boos Chili Cook-Off Celebrity Judges Announced

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church has finalized the judging panel for this year’s annual Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser.  Comprised of two local business entrepreneurs and renowned foodies and a longtime media insider, they are:

JOSE CANUSE is a Senior Producer of the Preston Scott Show on WFLA 100.7 TalkRadio on the IHeartRadio network.

DAVE OWENS is the Chef and Owner, with his wife Marilyn, of Big Papa’s Chophouse on the Square in Quincy.  Dave has been a successful caterer and a leader in the food truck culinary scene for over 40 years.

ROGER RANKIN is the Chef and Owner, with his wife Bridgette, of Burned Beard Brewing.  Headquartered in Quincy’s historic former May Pharmacy building, Roger is serving up his signature fusion specialties that made his Rankin Tacos a foodie-favorite throughout the Big Bend.

Bowls & Boos Chili Cook-Off takes place each year on October 31st, Halloween, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 10 W. King St. in Quincy.  Tickets are $10.

This special event is a fundraiser for the Gadsden County Outreach Ministries of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Women (ECW).  Not only does the money raised support ECW’s local charitable partners but the slogan “No One Goes Away Hungry” emphasizes their model of feeding hungry low-income families & children out trick-or-treating with meals subsidized through ticket sales and sponsorships.
